  • A gold coin of Sardinia issued by Carlo Emanuele III (1730-1773), and of the value of about thirty-five Lira in the present monetary system.

    His successor, Vittorio Amedeo III (1773-1796), struck the Carlino Nuovo in 1790. This was a much larger coin, equal to about one hundred and twenty Lira.
