  • Also but rarely written Dandyprat. The colloquial name for a small silver coin which was current in England at the beginning of the sixteenth century. It was probably the half Groat of Henry VII (1485-1509).

    Camden, in his Remaines, 1605 (188), refers to it thus: "K. Henry the 7th stamped a small coine called dandyprats."
