Dinders Public Deposited
Also written Dynders. Phillips, in his History of Shrewsbury (pp. 199, 200), in referring to Wroxeter, has the following note: "The Roman coins found here are a proof of the antiquity of the place; the inhabitants call them dinders, a corruption of the Roman denarius."
