Definition

• A variety of the Schelling of the United Provinces which receives this name from a ship under full sail on the obverse. It was current for six Stuivers.

  This coin was issued by the Province of Holland in 1670, by West Friesland in 1673, by Utrecht in 1702, by Gueldres in 1716, and by Zeeland in 1750.
