Etampe Pubblico Deposited
A billon coin issued by France for colonial use from about 1750 to 1828, in which year they were demonetized. The usual type presents the orignial obverse effaced and counterstamped C. Their value varied, being three Sous and nine Deniers in the Antilles; two Sous and nine Deniers in the Antilles; two Sous in Cayenne, etc. See Marque and Sol, and conf.
