  • A name given to pieces of coarse cotton cloth, about nine inches in width, and eighteen or twenty feet in length, which circulated as money in Ethiopia and other parts of Africa. One piece of this cloth is of the value of sixty pieces of the iron "Hashshah" (q.v.).
