Filips Gulden Pubblico Deposited
The name given to a variety of the gold Florin issued by Philip, Archduke of Austria, for Brabant, in the latter part of the fifteenth century. There is a dated specimen with St. Philip with a sceptre and book on the obverse, and the inscription: SANCTE PHE INTERCEDE PRO NOBIS. 1499.
The reverse has an ornamented cross, and PHS DEI GRA ARCHIDUX AVST DX BVR BRA.
