Definition
  • A gold coin of France issued by Philip VI of Valois (1328-1350). The obverse has a figure of St. George on horseback slaying a dragon with a spear. The inscription reads: PHILIPPVS DEI GRA FRACOR REX. These Florins were struck at Languedoc, pursuant to an ordinance of April 27, 1346.
