Gouden Lam Öffentlichkeit Deposited
also called Gulden Lam, and frequently abbreviated Lam, was the name given to a gold coin of the type of the Agnel (q.v.) struck by the Dukes of Holland, Brabant, Gueldres, etc. The larger coin or Mouton received the name of Groot Lam.
The Gouden Lam is mentioned in the monetary records of Vilvoorden, as early as 1330. See Chijs, van der, Les monnaies des Pays-Bas. 1851-66. (p. 71).
