Grossi Praecisi Publique Deposited
Also called Breigroschen, or Grossi Lati, was a name applied in the fourteenth century and later to certain types of Bohemian Groschen of large module, to distinguish them from smaller pieces of the same denomination, Grossi Praecisi, which were struck contemporaneously.
It should be remembered, however, that the adjective breit is employed in a general way to define the broad type, as distinguished from the dick, or thick speciments. This accounts for such names as the Breit-pfennig of Augsburg; the Breiter Thaler, etc. See Dickthaler.
