• The word means a cuckold and it is usually applied to a class of medallic Thaler which have obscene inscriptions.

  It is also used to designate a Thaler struck by Philip Reinhard I, Earl of Solms, in 1627 from silver found in the fortress of Wolfenbuttel, and dedicated to Christian IV of Denmark.
