Harp 上市 Deposited

定義
  • The colloquial name for the Groat and half Groat struck in 1536 and later, by Henry VIII for Ireland, on account of the figure of the harp on the reverse.

In contemporary documents there is mention of "red harpes," being worth three Smulkyns (q.v.). See also Numismatic Chronicle (4th Series, xv. 192-229).
