Definizione
  • A popular name for the Groat of Henry VIII of England (1509-1547). Shackerly Marmion in his play The Antiquary, 1633 (ii.), has the lines: "A piece of antiquity; sir, 'tis English coin; and if you will needs know, 'tis an old Harry groat."
