Jack Öffentlichkeit Deposited
Evidently the name of an early Irish coin, as at a Parliament held at Drogheda, 1460, for the reformation of the Irish coinage, it was decreed among other measures that " the coin called the Jack be hereafter of no valne and void." See Ending (i. 278).
