Justo Publique Deposited
A gold coin of Portugal issued by Joannes II (1481-1495) which had a value of about six hundred Reis. The de- vice on one side is the armorial shield, and on the other the King seated on a throne or standing before it, with the motto IVSTVS VT PALMA FLOREBIT, from which inscription the coin obtained its name. There is a cor- responding half, known as Espadim (q.v.).
