Kabean Public Deposited

Definition
  • The name given to a form of money used in Tenasserim, a former province of Siani and later of Burma. The coins consist of a mixture of lead and tin. R. C. Temple, in the Indian Antiquary, 1902 (p. 51), states that 40 Kabean are equal to one Madras Rupee, and 88 are equal to a Spanish Dollar. See Ganza.
