Kaird Turner Public Deposited
An obsolete Scotch term for a small base coin made by tinkers. Caird or Kaird means a tinker, and the name is common to Aberdeenshire.
Spalding, History of Scotland , 1792 (i. 197), says: " The Kaird turners [were] . . . discharged, as false cuinzes. "
