Leu Public Deposited
A silver coin of Bulgaria and Roumania adopted in 1867, when these countries based their monetary systems on the Latin Union. One hundred Bani are equal to one Leu. The plural is Lei, and the name of the coin is synonymous with Lira or Livre. Similarly in Bulgaria, one hundred Stotinki are equal to one Lev (plural Leba).
