Lira Mocenigo Public Deposited
Also called Lira Mocenigo. A silver coin of Venice, which receives its name from the Doge Pietro Mocenigo (1474-1476), who introduced it. The type was similar to the Marcella (q.v.) and the coin was retained until about the middle of the sixteenth century. Its original value was ten Soldi.
