• A base silver coin of the Venetian Republic, originally issued pursuant to an act of January 5, 1571, under the Doge Alvise I. Mocenigo. It bears on the reverse the numeral X, to indicate its value of ten Gazzette. This method of inscribing was at a later period used for the Lirazza (q.v.).
