Definición
  • The name given to a gold coin struck in the mint of Turin after the battle of Marengo, which occurred on June 14, 1800. It bears the head of Minerva and on the reverse the date L'AN 9 or L'AN 10, i.e., 1801 or 1802. The value was twenty Francs, and it was designed by Amadeus Lavy, the mintmaster at Turin. This coin is also known as the Marenghino.
