A silver coin of Ferrara of the value of one Grossetto, with the figure of St. Maurelius on one side and a cornmill on the reverse.
It was introduced in the fifteenth century either by Duke Borso (1450-1471) or by his successor, Ercole I (1471-1505). For detailed accounts of the origin of the name and the curious devices, see Rivista Italiana di Numismatica (xviii. 560).
