Mashrabi Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A name given to the copper forty Cash piece of Mysore, by Tipu Sultan, in 1793. This coin had previously been called Asmani (q.v.), and the change of name was necessitated owing to Tipu having given the names of the different stars to his smaller copper coins.
Marsden, Numismata Orientalia Illustrata. 1823-25. (ii. 724) calls it Mashrabi. The word Mushtari is the Arabic designation for the planet Jupiter.
