Momme Öffentlichkeit Deposited
Ordinarily a Japanese weight, but in some instances used as indicative of value. Thus in 1765 appeared a rectilinear silver coin called the Tanuma Go Momme Gin, or the five Momme Silver of Tanuma (Munro, Coins of Japan. 1904, p. 195). It was valued at the twelfth of a gold Ryo. See Kwan.
