Noummos Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • The Dorian form of vopios, used in South Italy to designate the principal silver coin issued in the many cities of this district. The Noummos here corresponded in weight to the Corinthian Stater or Attic Didrachm. The term Noummos was also used to designate the silver Litra (q.v.), struck in the same locality. See Babelon, Traitc (i. 450-453).
