Nowt Geld Público Deposited

Definición
  • In Ine's Laws, circa 693, a regulated sequence of fines is given, estimated in the payment of cattle, and called nowt-geld. But as the valuations here recorded were not subjected to subsequent alteration, it is probable that the nowtgeld was disused by the Anglo-Saxons soon after Ine's time. In Scotland, however, cattle payments continued to the reign of David I (1124-1153).
