Otuzlik Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • A silver coin of the Ottoman Empire, of the value of thirty Paras. The name is derived from the Turkish word utuz, i.e. thirty. The Slavonian equivalent is Zolota, or Zolotah, by which name it is also frequently known.

Its weight varies from two hundred and thirteen to two hundred and thirty grains, and there is a double, called the Altmishlik.

In the reign of Selim III (A.H. 1203-1222), when the weight of the coinage was reduced, the Utuzlik was not struck.
