Queen Gold Pubblico Deposited
This obsolete form of English revenue is described as follows by Wharton, in his Law Lexicon, 1864.
" It is a royal revenue which belonged to every queen consort during her mar- riage with the King, and was due from every person who had made a voluntary offer or fine to the King amounting to ten marks or upwards. "
It is mentioned by Blount, in his An- cient Tenures, 1679 (36), and Blackstone in his Commentaries (i. 221) says that " The queen ... is entitled to an antient perquisite called queen-gold or aurum re- ginae . "
