An Italian word meaning curly. It was applied to the silver Testone of forty Soldi made by Benvenuto Cellini for Alessandro de Medici, of Florence (1533- 1536), on account of the curly head on the obverse. See Symonds, Life of Cellini (i. lxxx.).
