Rider Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A Scotch gold coin issued by James III in 1475, in his second coinage. It receives its name from the figure of the king on a galloping horse, and its weight was eighty grains.
There are divisions of one quarter, one third, one half, and two thirds, some of which are assigned to this monarch and others to his successor, James IV. See Rijder.
