  • A silver coin struck by Charles II, Duke of Savoy (1504-1553), which received this name from the figure of St. Maurice on horseback. It was issued in two values, i.e., sixteen Grossi and nine Grossi, and there are corresponding halves and quarters. See Promis (41).
