Sargpfennig Publique Deposited
The nickname given to small silver coins of the bishopric of Halberstadt, issued in the early part of the sixteenth century. They have on the obverse the figure of St. Stephen, the patron saint, who is supposed to bear some resemblance to a body in a coffin.
