Schauthaler Público Deposited
The name given to a variety of Thaler which is of a semi-medallic character, and which is struck as commemorative of some anniversary or as a memorial rather than for general circulation.
Such pieces, also called Schaustiicke, are frequently found in the series of the Holy Roman Empire at the beginning of the sixteenth century.
