A base silver coin of Gueldres, Overysel, Campen, Zeeland, etc., struck in the latter part of the sixteenth century. It bore the head of the Earl of Leicester and was valued at the twentieth part of the silver Daalder.
The name is still retained in Holland to designate the current copper coin of two and one half Cents.
