Définition

• A gold coin struck by the Counts of Barcelona during the eleventh century, and valued at one third of the Mancuso d'Oro, or one twelfth of the Quaterne (q.v.). The name is probably a corruption of Dinar, which appears to be confirmed by the fact that these coins have both Arabic and Latin inscriptions.
