Toghralu-Funduk Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A gold coin of the Ottoman Empire, issued early in the sixteenth century, and used not only in Turkey bu1 also in Egypt, Algiers and Tripoli. It corresponds to the Sequin, and originally weighed fifty-four grains, hut at later periods has been under fifty.
Under Ahmed 111 (A.H. 1115-1143) appeared the Toghralu-Funduk on which the toghra or royal cipher was introduced. See Fonrobert, Die Jule Fonrobert"sche Sammlung uberseeischer Munzen (No. 5039).
