Vureysen Público Deposited

This is men- tioned by Budelius, De Monetis , 1591 (pp. 250, 253), as a silver coin worth nine and one half Pfennige. It is no doubt a cor- ruption of the German word Feuer-eisen, i.e.. a steel for striking fire, and the coin referred to is probably the Briquet (q.v.). See also Azzalino.
