Definizione
  • A name given to a variety of the Guldengroschen which was issued by the Elector Frederick III of Saxony in conjunction with the Dukes John and Albrecht pursuant to the mint regula- tions of May 9, 1500. A later issue bears the name of Duke George in place of Al- brecht.

    The name is derived from the peculiar head-dress worn by the Dukes, after the fashion of that period.
