Definition

  • J. ten Doornkaat Koolman, in his Worterbuch der Ostfriesischen Sprache, 1882, defines this as small jing- ling money. The words " Kloter " and "Kleuter" mean to jingle or to ring, and the Dutch have a similar name, viz., Kleu- tergeld.
