Kas Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A copper coin issued by Denmark from the reign of Christian V (1670-1699) to 1845, for Tranquebar. It was similar to the Cache (q.v.), issued by France for its colonial possessions.
There are multiples of two, four, and ten Kas pieces, and many minor varieties, for a full account of which see Bergsoe, Trankebar-Monter, 1895 (passim).
