Parisis Público Deposited
A gold coin of Prance, originally struck by Philip VI of Valois (1328-1350). Its name is based on the fact that the Paris standard was one fourth above that of Tours. It was retained in France to the end of the seventeenth century, but it gradually lost its technical significance.
A Royal Parisis appeared in the reign of Philip IV (1285-1314); this was of billon. The Denier Parisis was struck about the same time, and of the same composition.
