  • or Perner, were diminutive base silver coins current in Tyrol from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century. They were copied from the Deniers of Verona, c;dled in German, Bern, which must not be confused with the Swiss town Berne or Bern. Four Berner were equal to one Yierer, and twenty Berner were equal to oneKreuzer, or Zwainziger. See Prey (No. 72).
