Philippus Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • A type of the gold Florin struck by Philip the Good (1430-1467) for Brabant. This coin was issued in 1435 and must not be confused with the Filips Gul- den, a later gold coin (q.v.).

    The Philippus was of the Rijder type with a figure of the Duke on horseback. See v.d. Chijs (p. 150).
