Definition

• A copper coin of India, which must not be confused with the Pice, of which it is the one third part.

  An Act of 1835 passed in Bengal or- dained that the Pie should be equal to the twelfth part of an Anna, or the 192d part of a Rupee. This relationship still exists. See Paisa.
