Piecette Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A billon coin of the cantons of Freiburg and Neuchatel, in Switzerland, of a value of seven Kreuzer. It was issued from about 1780 to the end of the century. See Pezzetta. Multiples as high as fifty-six Kreuzer were struck.
The original meaning is any fractional part, and it must have been used in this sense in England, as Cotgrave, in his Dic- tionarie, 1611, has Piecette, a shred, bit, morsell, a small parcell, or peece.
