Definição

• A Scotch billoin coin first issued by James III (1460-1488) and continued almost uninterruptedly to the reign of James VI. It was originally valued at three Pence, but later at two Pence. A variety struck under .lames VI was current for four Pence and was known as the Saltire Plack, from the design on one side of two sceptres in saltire {i.e., crossed), united by a thistle.

  The name Plack is derived from the French plaque, a thin plate of metal. See Achesoun, and Bodle.
