Definizione

• A gold coin of the South African Republic, agreeing in weight and value with the English Sovereign. There is a cor- responding half. The ordinary issues have the bust of President Paul Kruger, but obsidional varieties were struck in 1902 at the headquarters of the commanding gen- eral, with the inscription z. a. r. (Zuid Afrikaansche Republick) in monogram.
