Potin Público Deposited
A brittle base metal ; an alloy of lead, copper, tin, zinc, and twenty per cent of silver. This composition occurs in the Denarii of Valerianus, Gallienus, etc., and t he large series of base Tet radrachms struck at Alexandria in Egypt From the lii-sl to the third century A.I). The term is usually applied to ancient coins, but, the mixture is of the character of Billon (q.v.).
