Pougeoise Öffentlichkeit Deposited
A base silver coin current in the thirteenth century and later which takes its name from Le Puy in the Haute-Loire. Its value was half of the Obole or Maille.
Du Gauge cites an ordinance of Philip IV of France of 1294 in which the Pogesia is stated to be the same as the Pite (q.v.), and also asserts that the term pogesata is used to indicate anything of the value of one Pogesia.
