Pronkdaalder Publique Deposited
A large silver coin, sometimes known as a double Ducaton, struck by Philip II of Spain for Gueldres in the latter part of the sixteenth century. It has on the reverse eighteen crowned shields surrounding a central and larger shield of Spain. The name signifies osten- tatious or splendid.
